(First Look) - Unlike many products, webcams are one of the slowest evolving devices in the industry. Even though webcams are impressively popular, the innovation wasn’t there to seriously attract the next-generation crowd, at least until now. However, that has changed with Logitech’s QuickCam Fusion, which packs in 1.3-magapixels to deliver the best image quality.

The QuickCam Fusion has a built-in microphone and a flexible apparatus, which will let you adjust the microphone and the webcam to optimize the experience. Additionally, with Logitech’s RightSound technology, the microphone has the capacity to eliminate echoes, thereby eliminating the need to have a high-end microphone.

Logitech also packs in RightLight technology, which is similar to the RightSound technology, but as you might’ve guessed, this particular technology enhances the image quality in low light situations. With Logitech, there’s always a piece of software that adds more value to the product, and certainly, this time is no different. Logitech Video Effects software lets you choose 3D animated avatars that mimic your facial expressions and head movements, or 2D face accessories that will change your look with glasses and hats. This application is compatible with three most popular instant messengers – MSN, Yahoo and AOL.
