(Interview Series) - By now, it’s no surprise that laser mice have been having issues with surface tracking. We’ve covered reports regarding this extensively, and since we requested our readers to drop us comments on this issue, we received a very interesting question: "When do you (referring to Logitech and Razer) expect to release an updated version of the laser technology that's at least as good (if not better) in sensing surfaces as today's optical technology?" Needless to say, we went to both peripherals makers for their input on the matter. We’ve yet to hear back from Logitech, although they have ensured a timely reply, but since Razer forwarded us their answer first, we decided to publish their thoughts on the matter. However, in order to further refine laser technology, Razer is developing upcoming products in its R&D facility to remedy many of the issues. Razer didn’t have much to add to the question, but at least one thing’s for certain, as companies introduce next generation of products, laser technology will undoubtedly be one step closer to being perfect. With that said, we are awaiting a reply from Logitech, so it will be interesting to hear their feedback on the question as well.
