Page 1 of 9 As we discussed in our Connect3d X700 Pro 256MB review previously, ATI’s X700 Pro is wrongfully placed in the market in terms of price and performance. ATI is apparently trying to compete against NVIDIA’s 6600GT with the card’s competitive price, but X700 Pro falls short when it comes to performance between the two rivals. The X700 Pro’s performance is closer to that of the regular 6600 instead of its successor. Once you have passed the initial confusing stage, then there’s the talk of overall package and the card’s value when compared to its competitors. Although Connect3D performed well with its 256MB of memory onboard, the package was quite discouraging for us to recommend it (package was one of the few reasons for us to not recommend it). When the prices are so competitive, manufacturers must be able to sweeten the deal to make their product worthwhile. This time around we have Abit’s X700 Pro that is equipped with 128MB of onboard memory (you can also purchase the 256MB version), a healthy looking heatsink and fan combo with Abit’s traditional orange PCB to differentiate its graphics adapter from the rest of the manufacturers. Abit has proven itself to be a solid manufacturer when it boils down to quality products, and surely enough we are expecting nothing but a quality X700 Pro. Does Abit have what it takes to be a desirable candidate in the market? Read on and find out… For all your graphics card buying needs, check out Newegg.com
