Page 2 of 5 XFX 6800GS XXX Edition: Product Outlook For those of you who are unfamiliar with the 6800GS, here's a brief look at the card's specifications:

As you can see, we were delighted and felt rather proud when we owned a card like the 6800 Ultra, and what a card it was. Extremely fast. Brilliant. Then NVIDIA announced its plans to stop production of all cards in the 6800 series and launch a new one, the 6800GS. It was a bit of a shock, but we think we just might recover by the end of this analysis. Also, if you see a manufacturer retailing a 6800GT or an Ultra, please be aware that it's already out of production and the vendor is simply emptying out its inventory. Getting back to the 6800GS, it's clocked higher than the Ultra and even the 7800GT. The beauty is that even at 425MHz, there is enough juice in it to be overclocked much more than the standard clock speeds as you will later find out. The performance is expected to be great and the price is just too good at $249.00.
