(Insider Report) - Infocom, the largest IT expo in India is currently under progress in Kolkata, India. While there, we spoke to some of the key personnel involved and learned that if all goes well, Infocom might either merge or get re-branded as CeBIT India.

According to officials, the merger or re-branding might take place in ’06-’07 financial year. If this comes to fruition, it will be a significant development for CE related exhibitions in India, as no such events take place on a global scale there.

Considering India’s status in the IT industry today, it’s logical for major tradeshow organizations to make their entry into the Indian market.
