Late last year, we reported that OCZ was working on its 700W power supply unit and could possibly have information on it by the beginning of January, most likely around the Consumer Electronics Show timeframe. But apparently that wasn’t the case, at all. OCZ did not say anything about the power supply’s development process, but we knew they were working on it initially. The 700W PSU is obviously to power NVIDIA’s SLI and ATI’s upcoming Multi-VPU technologies. The power supply is almost ready to ship, and OCZ hopes to introduce it in the next few weeks. Once again, let’s keep in mind that almost all hardware manufacturers like to have something to show off at Computex in Taipei, Taiwan, which is one of the largest hardware tradeshows in the world. According to an industry insider near OCZ, the company is currently working on its timetable to get the product ready for shipment right after its announcement. OCZ will add the 700W version to its PowerStream line of power supplies. The unit will not follow the latest modular trends, and but should have its wires sleeved, similar to other OCZ PSUs. The specifications, availability and pricing is currently unknown.
