(Special Report) - People are worried that AMD might lose its ground against Intel, since it won't be making any significant upgrades to its architecture in 2006. While that's somewhat of a logical statement, AMD doesn't have much to worry about regardless of what Intel does and launches. Industry analysts and AMD partners confirmed that Intel might only gain lead against AMD for a month or so, but after that, AMD will continue its push towards obtaining marketshare. AMD's gaming processors (the FX series) will continue to experience speed bumps in 2006, and of course, we can't forget the launch of its upcoming socket, which is expected to debut in the first half of 2006. Despite rumors, AMD still has its roadmap planned out well enough, at least for 2006, that it doesn't need to worry about Intel taking over its market for sometime. With that said, Intel is catching up rapidly, and thus we hope that AMD has new features and improvements planned out for 2007.
