(Special Report) - This year’s show wasn’t as much about showcasing new technologies as it was about technology convergence. A lot of companies across various sub-sectors of industries are working feverishly to combine two or more existing technologies to add more value to products and services. This value proposition could either be on price points or through product reduction. By product reduction, we simply mean reducing the number of products you need to purchase to do a variety of tasks. With headphones and headsets, for instance, you would need two separate devices. However, companies are soon planning to release a single device that can handle both activities.

All in all, you might not see anything amazingly over the top this year, but you will certainly see interesting concepts based around existing technologies and offerings.
