(Special Report) - In our meeting with Symantec at CES, we asked about the future of security on mobile devices. Symantec confirmed it’s neither worried about mobile devices nor does it see an emerging trend that would cause the company to worry due to the diversity of such devices.

For instance, a number of devices run on Windows Mobile, Palm OS, Windows Mobile and Symbian. Because of the small number of mobile devices and their OS diversity, it’s not practical for malware writers to target such devices. Now, we may still see a few threats once in a while, but that’s not an indicator of future security breaches.
