(Special Report) - In our meetings with Logitech, Kensington and Microsoft’s Hardware Group at CES 2007, all three said the future of peripherals is mobility. While all three companies will continue to focus on desktop products, they are looking to enhance the user experience for mobile professionals who are on the go.

One interesting trend we noticed was that all of the mobile mice the companies were announcing at the show were a little too small for decent sized hands. Thankfully, none of the three we talked to tried to dodge the question and gave us a direct response. They said even though the mice were fairly small, they weren’t meant to be used for extended hours of use. They would come in handy on airplanes or in tight spaces where navigating through the notebook’s touchpad or scroll button would be tedious and tiresome.

Obviously if you are looking to use a notebook mouse for extended hours of use, it might be better for you to get a fully functional desktop mouse. You can also look forward to a lot of other mobile products to show up throughout the year.
