(Special Report) - Ever since Google announced its decision to take on the wireless industry, we've personally commented on how wireless carriers are threatened by Google and what it entails for them going forward. Of course, AT&T and Verizon's decision to announce their openness at an inopportune time didn't help matters either. However, things might be different in the wireless land, we hear. According to carrier partners, it's not that wireless carriers are threatened; they are just confused. Rightfully, they said, everyone expects them to be threatened and feel pressured from Google, the company to lookout for. But they don't know whether to embrace Android or be threatened by it. However, responsibly, all of them are delving deeper into Android, its functionality and Google's motivation behind it. Naturally, they are also asking a lot of questions from everyone and anyone they can meet with. This includes everyone from independent industry observers to handset makers. Unfortunately, it doesn't help matters that a lot of handset makers don't quite understand Android themselves. Their development teams are looking into Android and its future opportunities, but a lot of them, if any, haven't even developed an initial reaction to the operating system, other than to say they are excited by its possibilities. Whatever that means. Click here to check out the latest cell phone prices on Amazon.com!
