Dell is finally joining Panasonic, Acer and Sony with a Blu-Ray offering with its brand, spankin’ new XPS M1710 notebook. In addition to Blu-Ray, it also packs an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 microprocessor, an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 FTX 512MB graphics adapter, up to 4GB of memory and up to 160GB of HDD space. From a pure aesthetics point-of-view, the M1710 looks alright. I’ve seen a lot sleeker notebooks, but hey, it’s Dell we are talking about, so no surprises there.

Dell should have this notebook out by holidays with a starting price of $3,700. Eh, it’s not so bad if you want to live on the bleeding edge. I mean, after all, it’s not like Blu-Ray discs are going to be any cheaper, so you may as well go the whole way, while you are on the spending spree.
