Some faulty components in an unspecified number of Motorola RAZR phones produced between January 16th and February 28th, 2006 has created an annoying bug. Carriers Cingular and T-Mobile suspended selling the RAZR after becoming aware of the bug that causes calls to be dropped and the phone shut off when it's flipped open. Motorola isn't, as of the moment, doing a recall.

Not much of a surprise to me. When you're making millions of technologically advanced consumer electronics (like a phone), you're bound to have a few bad apples. The real test is seeing how Motorola responds to the problem and how they resolve it with those unlucky enough to have bought a faulty unit.
