Today is just an all around delightful day. Executives are being open-minded and really admitting to their mission statements and wrongdoings. What is the corporate world coming to?

So, Sony President Royji Chubachi, who finally crashed and burned from pressure, admitted: "The company should have investigated the cause of the battery problem more quickly."

Noooo, ya think? You know what the sad part about all of this is. An executive is admitting to making a mistake and its grabbing headlines. Funny, isn’t it? But yeah, back to the topic, no kidding, geniuses. It’s about time you admitted to at least one of the millions of problems you are rusted with. I hope you don’t expect public sympathy over this.

Nice! Now this is what I call an open-minded and rather candid executive of a public company. At a recently held corporate dinner, Watkins apparently ignored the advice from his PR team and let it all out. He must be a frustrated bugger.

According to Fortune magazine, here’s what Watkins said about Seagate’s ultimate mission: "Let's face it, we're not changing the world. We're building a product that helps people buy more crap - and watch porn."

After reading this statement, I get weird images of Watkins not doing what he’s supposed to in his office. You know what I mean. Anyways, good luck living this one down. Even a poor attempt at crisis PR won’t help.

Somebody needs to slap Sony right about now. The marketing geniuses at Sony Australia seem to think it’s a bright idea to copy Apple’s “Get a Mac” campaign ads – down to the core – and attempt a re-branding campaign. Are they out of their minds? I mean, I’m speechless. Talk about blatant lack of creativity and copying.

The new branding initiative has Sony Australia promote “non-PC PCs” in the form of VAIO. What the heck does that even mean? For Apple, a non-PC is a Mac; you know, the computer that actually has a different OS environment and whatnot. But what does Sony have to offer? Absolutely nothing! Zip! Nada! Zero! Sometimes, I tell you, the tech industry never ceases to amaze me with its stupidity.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Pentax distributor Donwon Systems has released a special edition Pentax LX Gold camera that’s water-proof and dust-resistant. And obviously, the exterior of the device is just amazing, albeit old school.

No word on pricing or availability, though.

Now this is hot! Excuse me, I mean, this is cool. OCZ has taken water cooling and memory modules to another level by combining the two on its PC2-9200 modules.
According to OCZ:

“These new modules feature the new OCZ FlexXLC (Xtreme Liquid Convention) heatsink that delivers superior heat dissipation via a hybrid copper and aluminum design alterable between passive air or water cooling.”

The memory modules are available immediately in 2GB flavor.
