Oh, what a shock! This news has to be the ironies of all ironies. LG is accusing Motorola of copying its KV2300 cell phone design for the KRZR K1m.

Let’s analyze some of LG’s comments, shall we (my comments are in bold):

“Our KV2300 is a flat, rectangular flip phone with high-gloss black finish, and the KRZR K1m is also a flat, rectangular flip phone with high-gloss black finish,” LG spokesman Lee Hyoung-kun said.

I hope he is kidding with this comment. Apple doesn’t complain when it gets copied, what makes LG so special? Learn from the best, guys.

“Both are equipped with 1.3-megapixel cameras and touch control keys in their fronts with strikingly similar arrangements. In addition, their dimensions are almost identical,” Lee said.

Since when did specs become so proprietary? Look at any MP3 player or cell phone, for that matter, and they pretty much have identical features. I know you are hurting, LG, but let’s be rational here.

“At first glance, we recognized that the KRZR has adopted the concepts of our recent products that started with the Chocolate phone _ simple clamshell models armed with touch-sensitive keys,” Lee said.

Oh no, he didn’t. Is it me or do they not realize that Chocolate is crazily similar to Apple’s iPod.

“We don't think Motorola intentionally imitated the look of the KV2300. But we are very flattered that a company of such caliber followed our design policy,'' Lee continued.

Yeah, great way to backtrack. “We hate Motorola, but you know it might not be so bad. If we make too much noise, we will get canned anyway, so let’s just whimper.”

It’s so annoying when companies criticize one another of copying when some of their own products are inspired from other, successful, white colored devices.

It’s not so much that the specs of this unnamed Olympus camera are really exciting - no, not at all - but rather the looks are killer. I know this is shallow comment to make, but what can I say? Sometimes specs really aren’t that important. For the sake of the “wood camera,” it’s not like you will be using it much anyways.

The skinny on this camera is that it’s made from the finest Japanese wood, Cypress, which is the most popular (read: expensive) wood in Japan and is used to build shrines and temples in the coastal country.

Just by looking at the images, it’s pretty amazing what Olympus went through to design such a product. And to go off on a tangent, please let me know why companies do this. There’s no way this camera will ever show up in local stores in mass quantities, so what’s the point of wasting R&D resources that’s not going to have a return on investment. Olympus engineers must really be bored to come up with something like this, at least that’s what I would like to believe. Then again, the conspirator in me thinks Olympus and others that circulate the most outrageous concepts online are doing it for mere kicks. You know, making the competitive statement: “We are better than you.”

Back to the topic, there no word whether or not the “wood camera” will ever see the light of day in retail (chances are it won’t), but its fun to look at.

As majority of you know, Bose is quite the company when it comes to speakers and headphones. In fact, it’s a legend in the personal audio market, and to continue their expansion with innovation, Bose has released a new pair of headphones that may be of interest to you.

The TriPort OE is a standard pair of headphones with bits of design renovation, technologies and comfort tucked in nice package.

Bose states:

“The audio cable for Bose On-Ear headphones attaches to just one earcup, so there's more freedom of movement and less tangling than with Y-cables. Detachable 43" and 16" single-line cables are included with purchase. Use the shorter cable for armband or shirt pocket connections, or connect it to the longer cable when you need added reach.”

Exact details are not yet available, which is sort of a letdown, but who am I to question Bose?

The TriPort OE will appear on shelves later this fall for an undisclosed price.

If you couldn’t wait for the iPhone to show up, well, now you have an alternative.

According to Gear4:

“BluEye is a 3-in-1 Bluetooth hands free mobile connection, FM radio and remote control for iPod allowing you to make and receive calls on your iPod.”

Maybe I’m just not hip enough to understand the concept, but why would I go through the trouble to wireless connect my iPod to the cell phone just to receive phone calls on it? Can’t I just do that with the cell phone that I already have in my hands? Maybe it’s just the coolness factor of it all. Apparently you can’t be seen dialing a number these days or you are labeled a social outcast. Thanks Gear4 for making me look exuberant with a decent social life.

For those of you who are interested in BluEye, you can preorder it immediately in either black or white for an unknown price.

Logitech has introduced a new keyboard with an updated design that will surely make you drool. In strong competition against Microsoft, Logitech was bound to release a Microsoft killer soon, and here it is: the diNovo Edge.

It’s pretty edgy, alright. The keyboard is downright gorgeous with a sleek presentation. Not only are the standard keys present, but the diNovo edge integrates a slew of new technologies as well.

The diNovo Edge is bundled with Vista optimized keys, a volume touchpad (with LED lights) and a trackpad with circular scrolling. What more could you ask for?

Unfortunately, the Logitech diNovo Edge isn’t cheap. For the price of $200, it’s a bit too difficult to consume, but if you can do so, you will definitely be impressed with another Logitech offering. Personally, I would recommend waiting until the price drops, which quite frankly, happens pretty substantially in a short period of time, especially for Logitech products.

It will be available shortly, just in time for holiday gift-giving ceremonies.
