Since the initial release of the iPad, it has been a widely held belief that the enterprise user would eventually define the path in which the iPad would take in the future. Today, it looks like this is happening.

According to the WSJ, businesses from all over the States are putting iPads into use as the iPad gains further momentum into the world of the enterprise. The single biggest reason is the design of the iPad caters to the need of the business user.

With the latest release of the iOS for iPhone users, one might think that the needs of those looking for viable multitasking have been all but solved for everyone. Sadly, this is hardly the case.

As reported by 9-5 Mac, there is one option that without question, gives iOS the kind of multitasking ability that should have been enabled by default. This tool is called MultiFl0w and it is nothing short of awesome. Like many apps worth having however, your phone must be jailbroken and running Cydia to access it though. But once installed, MultiFl0w will change the way you look at multitasking in the mobile space forever.

It’s fairly clear by now that Verizon is dead set on gaining on AT&T through any means possible. If that means matching some of their services, so be it. And in other instances, this means copying services completely.

GigaOm reports that Verizon is looking to bring live TV to iPad users here in the near future. Unlike AT&T’s TV service over Apple Devices, Verizon’s live TV service is designed for FiOS subscribers and will bring the joys of live TV to users of the iPad.

Without question, the Apple iPad has in many respects changed the way we look at computers and other portable computing devices. Even the iPhone hasn’t touched on the new areas being explored with the larger iPad. So how would one that is smaller, do for Apple fans?

PCWorld reports that Apple is looking to launch a smaller 7-inch iPad just in time for Christmas. Dubbed as the iPad 2, this smaller tablet computer is likely to appeal to those looking for iPad functionality with less size in hand.

It’s fair to point out that no new endeavor is pushed forth without its fair share of bumpy starts. But one might think that with all of the successes had by Apple, we’d see more stability with the launch of Apple’s entrance into the mobile advertising space. Apparently not.

As outlined by the WSJ, Apple’s new iAd program hasn’t been completely free of issues or problems. Slow to roll out, few real partners of note and at its worst, delays. Now I know that there are many out there who are in no hurry to see iAd become a roaring success. Google obviously being among them. But they say competition is good. So long as Apple can get their iAd program off to a stronger start in the months to come, then maybe Apple going slowly now is not such a bad thing after all.

Well it was fun while it lasted. The once famed Apple TV, the media device that never really found a strong enough niche to amount to the status of something beyond what Apple CEO once called a “Hobbyist device” is about to undergo a major shift in both focus and content.

According to Engadget, it looks like we will be seeing good and bad changes made to the device formally known as Apple TV. On the plus side, a better name change by adding the infamous “i” in from of the world TV. Secondly, there will be iPad widget functionality coming to this little box as well. The downside of course is that you are going to lose 1080p resolution, in exchange for Roku/Netflix like streaming functionality.

Looks like Apple is beginning to get a taste of what its like to be in Microsoft’s shoes during the early part of the last ten years. Being popular, clearly has a price and that price is called security flaws. The question Apple must answer now is how they are going to deal with their new found popularity and how will they address the upcoming security concerns surrounding the new fame?

Gizmodo reports that just about all iOS based devices are dealing with a huge security breach. Not to say there is much Apple could have done to prevent it without seeing it in action first, the breach is significant enough that it could cause widespread problems if not addressed soon. Here’s the nuts and bolts of how the exploit works. You visit a page with Safari, a PDF autoloads to your phone. The font used in said PDF, contains a hidden program that then causes a stack overflow on your iOS device. Now here is the funny part. If you jailbreak your phone, there is a program that can be installed that asks for authorization first before viewing PDF files. Apple, beat again by a quicker community response.

Ever wonder if Apple would go so far as to simply acquiring a company just to put it out of commission? This has been something I’ve been pondering when trying to determine what Apple is going to do with the music service known as Lala.

CNET reports that after Apple purchased Lala, they have then failed to do anything with it thus far. Worse is the article points out that any cloud based music service is expected to be small in scope, to what we had hoped to see in the near future.

Despite all of the hype surrounding this famed Jailbreak option, there are some issues being experienced as the servers for app repositories such as Cydia due to the immense popularity at the moment.

Considering all of the hype built up around the iPad’s potential influence with the print media, one might think they’d be a little more happy about what it could do for them. No such luck. Seems that there are publishers out there that feel that the iPad spells real trouble for their own efforts, despite any previously conceived ideas of mutual benefit.

AllThingsDigital reports that Time Inc. is up in arms over how Apple is handling the way Time offers subscriptions to their users. In short, Apple says no dice. That’s correct, Apple is not allowing Time to manage their subscriptions they way the publisher would like. This means Time is not handling the money going back and forth, despite Apple allowing others such as Amazon to do this early on.
