Verizon Excited to Sell iPad Data Plans, Hitting Back AT&T (Comments)

Verizon has gotten feisty after their 3G ad campaign, and they are not going to let AT&T get all the attention with the iPad. In an internal memo, Verizon is shown training employees on the iPad and telling them to encourage users to buy the WiFi version of the iPad and pair it with Verizon’s MiFi unit for an always-on 3G network. They are also interested in fighting this out with AT&T with the following loaded comments.
Microsoft Follows Apple With Windows Phone 7 Zune HD2 (Comments)

Microsoft is so fond of Apple’s iPhone-iPod touch combo, that it has decided to follow a similar strategy. In addition to have mobile communication devices running Windows Phone 7, the company is now abandoning, as we know it, the Zune platform and encouraging developers to switch over to Windows Phone 7 for “Zune HD2.”
T-Mobile Training Employees On HTC Desire (Comments)

Here we go with another employee training rumor. Originally, the HTC Desire was supposed to appear on AT&T sometime in May/June timeframe, but it looks like T-Mobile is training its retail managers on the HTC Desire as well. The HTC Desire, as many of you may know, is a slightly better variant to the original Nexus One. Unlike the boring Nexus One interface, HTC makes it exciting with its Sense UI and a few other hardware changes that makes the Nexus One look passe.

We’ve been on top of this news story, and the details are starting to come out gradually. Earlier this week, we reported that Verizon may get the Google Nexus One soon to meet the Spring 2010 deadline that Google initially imposed on itself during the Nexus One launch. We later published another report indicating that the date may be March 23. However, we have more or less of a confirmation from Verizon that claims that just because there will be a Verizon version of the Nexus One, it doesn’t mean Verizon is selling it in its retail stores.

Verizon 4G LTE, What It Means to AT&T (Comments)
![]()
Previously, we reported that Verizon was seeing tremendous success with their 4G network in its testing phase and that AT&T was not likely to get anything out the door for some time now. Well, if this report from ComputerWorld is any indication, then Verizon is set to beat everyone else by an easy 12-18 months. That spells big trouble for AT&T if they wish to be taken seriously by smartphone users.
