Portable media is the future and already we have started to see portable video and audio players. Nowadays, people don't want to carry ten different CDs. CDs take too much space and are hard to manage. Portable audio players allow users to carry their entire audio collection on player and forget about it. They are easy to install and operate, which makes them an ideal choice for anyone.

It is the future and we have seen many portable players emerge into this market. One of the popular manufacturers in this niche is iRock. They have produced some of the smallest and most compact portable MP3 players. Today we will be taking a look at iRock's 860 MP3 player. It's a feature rich product but let's see how features play a role on the overall performance of the player.

Extras

There are heaps of extras that come with the player. You will find 1 x quick start guide, 1 x user's manual, 1 x earphones, 1 x USB cable, 1 x iRock installation CD with user's manual in .pdf format, 1 x neck strap and 1 x carry case. The carry case is a nice edition. It has iRock's logo on the front side of the case. The clear screen and the associated spots for the buttons are located on the carry case exactly as they are on the player. The neck strap is exceedingly soft and adds the value to the product.

The USB cable is needed to connect the player to the PC to transfer audio files back and forth. The iRock CD contains various audio programs such as Music Match. It also has iRock's software, which is a must for the proper function of the player. The guides are thorough and provide diagrams along with detailed explanations to each action. The earphones are incredible and they are labeled under iRock's brand. iRock includes everything that is needed to get the player going after taking it out of it's packaging except for the main accessory – battery. Yes, we never found a battery inside the package. After researching, we did find that the battery is optional. This doesn't make much sense as battery is the main ingredient but apparently, iRock has their reasons.
