There are many heatsinks in the market and choosing
the right one can be a daunting task. The heatsinks can be separated
into two main categories: heatsinks for normal usage and heatsinks
designed for the enthusiast crowd. All air-cooling heatsinks are
similar to each other. Ultimately, we see the same technologies
being used in many heatsinks these days. There haven't been many
improvements done in this section and yet, we still see new models
coming out everyday.
We will be taking a look at Spire's CopperStream
II HSF. It claims performance and value in one package. Spire
has always separated themselves from the competitors by introducing
unique products. The CopperStream HSF certainly looks astonishing
but does it perform as well as it looks? Read on and find out…
Accessories:

Spire included a cotton cloth, two retention clips
for socket 478, an installation guide, a case badge, and some
thermal compound. The installation guide was very basic and easy
to understand. Spire's packaged case badge was made to look like
clear water. The CopperStream II HSF used the standard retention
clip installation method. So far the packaged contents have really
impressed us.
UPDATE 02-19-04: We recently
received an email from Spire stating that the included accessories
do not come with every cooler. The accessories we found with our
unit were specially added by their logistics team.
