I was looking to add couple fans to one of my overclocked
computers. So I started looking online for prices but most importantly
the quality of the fan. I only have 80MM holes in my case and
I haven’t modded my case yet so I was going to stick with
80MM no matter what. After searching xoxide.com, coolerguys.com,
and other places where I could find my ideal fan, I went to pctoys.com;
they always seem to have an answer for my last minute wishes.
So as usual, I started browsing through the isles, well actually
pages and found the fan I was looking for or at least I thought
I did. So I ordered the fan and being the impatient person I am,
I ripped open the package and installed the fan in my case. I
usually don’t read manuals or directions but this time something
caught my eye. On the package, it said something like “Auto
Temp. Case Fan.” After observing the fan for couple hours,
I was pretty impressed with the features so I thought that I should
do a review on this puppy. So here goes!

Thermo MAXX contains an automatic temperature sensor,
which allows the fan to slow down or speed up according to the
temperature inside your case. This fan contains a Molex connector
as well as optional motherboard plug, which allow you to control
the speed of the fan manually with cheaply available fan controllers.

You might be wondering how does this fan automatically
control its speed? The thermistor of this fan is located on the
wiring of the fan, which monitors the flow of air. The noise level
was relatively quiet even at the full speed. It is available in
many sizes.
In Conclusion, this fan is just as simple to install
as any other case fan you have installed before. We are impressed
with its noise level and it’s dual ball bearings. We are
certainly impressed with its feature of automatic speed control
according to the temperature and surely the price. You can’t
go wrong with a $9.99 price tag. If you want quality then this
is the fan for you but like myself who always tries to find beauty
and quality this might make me think twice. Since more and more
people are getting into modding their cases and want some beauty
in their cases, we sure would have loved to have the same model
with some LED’s installed.
Pros:
Low noise level
Automatic speed control
Ease of installation
Dual ball bearing design
Cons:
Preferred LED model
CoolTechZone Ultimate
Decision = 9/10
