| Today Intel introduced its second generation Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor based on Intel's industry-leading high-volume 90-nanometer process technology and it also expanded its Celeron M Processor family.
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processors are designed for larger-sized notebook PCs more commonly known as Desknotes i.e. Desktop Replacements.
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processors 538, 532, and 518 offer new features and high performance, including support for Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology; a larger, 1MB Level 2 cache; 13 new Streaming SIMD 3 Extensions (SSE3); enhancements to the Intel NetBurst microarchitecture; and speeds of 3.20 GHz, 3.06 GHz and 2.80 GHz, respectively. They also offer power management features as support for Enhanced Intel Speedstep technology.
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor supporting HT Technology works with the Intel 852GME and Intel 852PM chipsets.
The Intel Celeron M processors offer the right balance between performance, value & sleeker, lighter notebook designs. Based on Intel's mobile microarchitecture, the Intel Celeron M processor 340 features 512KB of L2 cache, frequency of 1.50 GHz, 400 MHz system bus, and operates at a lower core voltage than the desktop counterparts. The Intel Celeron M processors work with the Intel 855 chipset family as well the Intel 852GM chipset.
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor 538, 532 and 518 are priced at $294, $234 and $202, respectively for 1000 units; the Intel Celeron M Processor 340 is priced at $134 for 1000 units.
