Microsoft has launched an updated version of the corporate instant messaging software for high-end business solutions. The new software claims to improve performance by connecting business users in real-time. The software will also help these users in making critical decisions by connecting information through the client.
Microsoft has released a beta software for the company's Live Communications Server 2005, previously codenamed Vienna.
According to reports, the new software integrates itself in office applications, systems applications, servers, and other services to let the connected users know who is online and who is offline.
Thanks to the Live Communications Server 2005, this software can also be used to connect to sources outside the company infrastructures.
According to Microsoft, this particular program was designed to enable two or more organizations to exchange information back and forth. All instant messages will be encrypted and authenticated, confirms Microsoft.
The software giant has added many security features to the software. It will use VPN (Virtual Private Network) to connect to users that are located outside the network. Microsoft also claims that this version is more reliable than the software's previous predecessor.
The product is set to launch sometime in Q4 2004.
