Microsoft, world's largest software giant, launched the Mac Edition of Office 2004 for Apple computers on Wednesday. The software has already been spotted on shelves at various offline retailers. Microsoft plans to offer a professional version of the software but has delayed the program due to a reported delay in the PC Emulation software.
Today, Student, Standard and Teachers Editions were seen throughout many retailers. The new office suite packs an updated version of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Entourage, and MSN Messenger 4.0.
According to Microsoft, the professional version of Office 2004 will not appear in stores until the second half of the this year.
The professional version will carry Virtual PC for Mac 7.
One of the main features in Word will be edit tracking, support for longer file names, and organized integration between office applications and MSN Messenger 4.0.
Microsoft is offering a 30-day trial of the office suite for users, which is available at the company's official website.
The software is expected to cost $399.00 and $149.00 for Standard, Student and Teachers Edition, respectively.
The English and Japanese Editions are currently available in stores. The Spanish, Italian, French, Swedish, and German versions are expected to arrive later in June.
