
Microsoft, world's largest software maker, unveiled a feature pack for Windows Server 2003. This pack is structured to make the storage software work closely with general Windows servers. System vendors such as IBM and HP plan to offer these storage appliances on a less-featured version of Windows. Veritas, another complimented company in the software market, is also willing to support this pack from Microsoft.
The software giant's latest network-attached storage produces close integration with common purpose Windows servers. This software will help fulfill the demand of users who want simple management of their data. Microsoft's Storage Server 2003 is designed to integrate itself into current Windows based networks. For the first time, Storage Server 2003 will offer support and exchange data in a NAS software.
William Hurley, an Analyst at Enterprise Application Group, believes that Microsoft's Storage Server 2003 will give corporate consumers a first feel of Windows Server 2003. He also believes this software to be a new step for users who are still stuck in the old platform.
