Motherboard makers such as Biostar and Jetway plans to introduce their budget level motherboards in Q3 of the current year. According to a report by DigiTimes, the prices will intensify as the above stated companies release their budget level motherboards into the market later this year. The selling point is expected to be around $35.00, according to DigiTimes.

Biostar and Jetway plans to compete with Gigabyte's affordable motherboard division.

There are currently five models from Gigatrend Technology's Axper-brand. These motherboards are currently priced between $35.00 and $39.00. The ASRock motherboards will range within the same price point in order to compete.

DigitTimes reported, two out of five Axper models use Intel's 845 chipset and the remaining three models use Via's chipsets.

The report also states, three Axper motherboards are featured for the Intel Pentium 4 processors while the other two are designed for AMD's K7 chips.

Jetway's affordable motherboard models will use chipsets from Taiwanese chip producers, said sources close to DigiTimes.
