In the picture above, you can see the whole keyboard
layout. It looks like as if we are missing something, doesn’t
it. You are missing the six batch of keys that are supposed be
in the middle and you are also missing the arrow keys. Don’t
worry, the keys are still there but they are moved to a different
spot on the keyboard. Due to the separate location of the middle
keys the keyboard size has decreased dramatically. It is not a
standard size keyboard anymore, which can be taken as a positive
point or a negative one. It’s a compact keyboard that will
come in handy where there are space issues. The keys of this keyboard
are white in color and they are somewhat see-thru keys. The overall
body of this keyboard is black in color, which provides a great
contrast between the keys and the body itself. Obviously the main
attraction in this keyboard are the lights hence the name “Illuminated
Keyboard.” The lights look great when the keyboard is plugged
in the PS/2 port on the back of your PC.
Unfortunately this keyboard utilizes a PS/2 connector
instead of a USB port which more and more keyboard manufacturers
are moving towards. But you don’t have to worry since you
can get an USB extension any computer retailer. The connector
itself is color-coded purple, which matches with the PS/2 connector
in the back of the PC. This makes installation a breeze for the
inexperienced users. The wire of the keyboard is very short in
length unless you have the CPU right next to the monitor. Jab-Tech
included a PS/2 extension, which really helped, but we are unsure
if the extension will be included with every order. It is not
such a big deal about the length of the wire but who wants to
go through ridiculous head aches. The extension itself doesn’t
cost at much and it can also be purchased at Jab-Tech or a local
computer retailer.
